James Suckling rewards the wines of Principe Corsini

Awards for Villa Le Corti, Fico Wine and Tenuta Marsiliana wines

Since 2013, 21 Principe Corsini wines have been awarded high marks by James Suckling, one of the most authoritative American wine critic in the world. From the Villa Le Corti Chianti Classico Annata, Riserva and Gran Selezione, to the Tenuta Marsiliana IGT Costa Toscana, passing through the Fico Wine project, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 vintages were tasted and awarded by Suckling. A truly exceptional result that sees all wines exceed 92 points out of 100.

James Suckling, one of the most authoritative wine critic in the world

The passion for wine inherited from his father and a long career as a wine critic, in which he estimated to have tasted over 150,000 wines. We are talking about James Suckling, for almost 30 years Senior Editor and head of the European editorial staff of Wine Spectator, defined by Forbes as “one of the most influential wine critics in the world”.

In 2010 he founded the JamesSuckling.com website, offering the public a more modern approach to the world of wine. His opinions on wines attract the interest of the entire world wine sector. For this reason, the fact that 21 Principe Corsini wines have achieved excellent scores is a source of great pride.

Le Corti: Chianti Classico Annata, Riserva and Gran Selezione exceed 92 points

Among the labels of Villa Le Corti tasted by James Suckling are 12 wines that have obtained the exceptional score ranging from 92 to 96 points, out of a total of 100. The estate of Villa Le Corti sees absolute protagonists on its Chianti Classico wines .

Here are the award-winning wines:

Le Corti Chianti Classico Annata scores 93 points for both 2015 and 2014. While Cortevecchia Chianti Classico Riserva scores 95 points for the 2015 vintage, and 92 points for 2014 and 2013.

As for Don Tommaso Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, this wine achieves the excellent result of 93 points in the three vintages 2015, 2014 and 2013.

While ZAC IGT Toscana Sangiovese, dedicated to Zia Anna Corsini, hits 96 points for 2015, 93 points for 2014 and 95 points for 2013. Excellent the result achieved by the 2016 vintage of this wine which, recently joined of the family of Chianti Classico Gran Selezione gets the highest score ever with 97 points.

Fico Wine, excellent score by James Suckling

Within the Fico Wine project, whose vineyards are grown following the criteria of organic and biodynamic agriculture, there are two vintages awarded by the wine critic James Suckling. Fico IGT Toscana Sangiovese 2016 and Fico IGT Toscana Sangiovese 2015 both obtaining 96 points.
A really good result for the Corsini family red, born from Filippo’s desire to produce a wine in respectful harmony with the environment.

The awards obtained from Tenuta Marsiliana wines

Among the wines awarded by Suckling there are also two labels produced inside Tenuta Marsiliana, in the heart of the Maremma. An uncontaminated place where the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot vineyards are grown on over 20 hectares of land.

Marsiliana IGT e Birillo IGT

Marsiliana IGT Costa Toscana 2015 scored 94 points, the same score came for the 2014 vintage of this wine, while Marsiliana IGT Costa Toscana 2013 scored 92 points.
Finally, Principe Corsini also achieved great results with the Birillo IGT Costa Toscana label which for the 2016 vintage gets 92 points, followed by 93 points from the 2015 vintage and 92 from the 2014 vintage.
