Description

Chianti Classico DOCG “Le Corti” is the production base of the Villa Le Corti. The vineyards are located in the municipality of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, in the northern area of Chianti Classico, about 15 km south of Florence.

The vineyards, all in the hills, are located at an altitude of 220-300 meters above sea level and are exposed mainly to the south. The soils are characterized by an important skeleton and a structure with white river pebbles alternating with brown clays.

The form of farming used is the low spurred cordon, so as to derive maximum benefit from the heat of the earth. Le Corti, the estate’s “vintage” Chianti Classico, is produced with Sangiovese grapes and in a small part Colorino.

It is a wine that interprets the elegance of Chianti Classico.

Winemaking and Aging

Winemaking

Fermentation process lasts 15 days, with a max temperature of 26° C., in open air tanks with temperature control system. The grapes are inoculated with selected indigenous yeasts.

Aging

The wine ages in cement vats for 12 months.

Tasting Notes

The fresh vintage enhances the immediate expressiveness of Chianti Classico terroir in San Casciano Val di Pesa, for a wine with fragrant and vibrant vitality from the Sangiovese and Colorino vineyards of Villa Le Corti, managed according to organic viticulture. Brilliant ruby red glass with a refined aromatic phrasing of violets and iris, and fresh shades of red berries with currants and freshly picked cherries, and the vitality of orange and peppery spicy. The mouth is a juicy stream with notes of pomegranate and red plums, delicate tannins defined by balsamic elements, and refreshing peppery finish.

Pairing

Eggplant moussaka.
