ZAC: the 2016 vintage becomes Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

ZAC: the 2016 vintage becomes Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

ZAC, Sangiovese in purity

ZAC 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione for Principe Corsini is the Sangiovese cru in purity. The grapes with which it is produced come from Gugliaie, one of the most suitable vineyards of Villa Le Corti. Thanks to the presence of river pebbles in the ground, in fact, the vineyard is rich in skeleton, giving the wines aromatic intensity and body.

This red wine represents the new business challenge of Principe Corsini. The first harvest in which it was produced dates back to 2008. The aging of ZAC, between 16 and 18 months, takes place mainly in used barriques and continues for 12 months in the bottle. Every year the production stands at 4,000 bottles.

The red wine dedicated to Zia Anna Corsini

This Sangiovese red wine has a strong Chianti character, decisive and elegant at the same time. Its name ZAC is dedicated to Anna Corsini, sister of Prince Tommaso Corsini.

The woman, much loved by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was affectionately called ZAC. Acronym of Zia (aunt) Anna Corsini. This wine, therefore, pays homage to a special woman, trying to resemble her for character and strong personality.

The transition from IGT to Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

Until the 2015 vintage, ZAC fell into the category of the Tuscan IGT, among the large bottles called Super Tuscan. With the 2016 vintage, however, the red of Principe Corsini gets the transition from IGT to Chianti Classico Gran Selezione. A further certificate of quality and refinement for this truly precious red wine.

“With the 2016 vintage, we decided to move to Gran Selezione, to honour the thousandth of the 300 years since the Grand Ducal edict of 1716 which historically outlines and regulates Chianti Classico for the first time in the modern era.” Duccio Corsini

The exclusive presentation of ZAC in Milan
