Marsiliana, IGT red wine of Maremma by Principe Corsini
Only the best grapes for the red of Tenuta Marsiliana
Marsiliana is the result of the selection of the best Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes that the vineyards of the estate produce in each vintage. This soft and intense supertuscan creates at the highest levels the encounter between the international class of Bordeaux blend and the warm and deep power of the Tuscan coast.
Excellent representation of this wine are the vintages Marsiliana 2014 and Marsiliana 2015. The quality is also guaranteed by the recognition of the product with a Typical Geographical Indication of the Tuscan Coast.
Vinification and aging in barrique
To obtain Marsiliana IGT Costa Toscana Rosso, which is a soft and intense wine, the Bordeaux blend must meet the scents of the Tuscan coast of the Maremma. Vinification takes place in open steel vats that maintain a controlled temperature, up to a maximum of 28° C, for 16 days.
The refinement then continues for the next 18 months. The wine is left to rest in barriques for 50% new and the remaining 50% used. Finally, the “grand vin” of Tenuta Marsiliana remains 12 months in the bottle, before being tasted. Its alcoholic strength reaches 14.5%. All the rigorous production and control process of this precious red gives life to a vegan product in 5,600 bottles.v
Red wine, a true expression of the Maremma coast
The intense structure of Marsiliana 2014 IGT Costa Toscana Rosso and Marsiliana 2015 IGT Costa Toscana Rosso brings to mind the Mediterranean maquis typical of the Tenuta La Marsiliana, on the Maremma hills. A place where you can breathe the sea air and where everything has remained uncontaminated.
To better appreciate the red and purple reflections of this wine, it must be observed inside a glass. The colors of the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes create an extraordinary harmony, also from the point of view of the fruity and spicy taste of the Maremma land.v
At the table: how to best taste Marsiliana
The red of Principe Corsini, produced in Tenuta Marsiliana, goes perfectly with meat dishes, such as lamb scottadito with plums. The added value is a dinner to be enjoyed with friends.
The contrast between the meat dishes and this typically Tuscan red wine ignites the senses, enveloping the palate with notes of cassis, blueberry and blackberry. In the mouth remains the full-bodied taste of juniper, resins, wild fennel, mastic and underbrush humus. The memory that remains is a spicy heat that you will be satisfied only with the next sip.
