Tenuta Marsiliana, the Maremma estate of Principe Corsini, has recently obtained an important certification.
They now have a Vegan Quality certification for the vintages 2013-2015 for the wines Costa Toscana IGT and the 2016 vintage of Maremma Toscana IGT “Marsiliana”.
The certification is a step in the direction of an ever-more-attentive production philosophy in regards to the environment, but also to consumers and their health and dietary needs.
According to the latest findings by Eurispes, “green cuisine” is increasingly popular with Italians, who are also becoming more attentive in their food and wine selections.
Vegetarians and vegans represent 8% of the population, up from 5.7% in 2016. In numbers, this means almost 5 million people have chosen this style of life, of which 600,000 are vegans.
After obtaining organic certification in 2015 for all of Principe Corsini’s production, today Marsiliana is officially a vegan producer, making 100% vegan wines.
The wines that are certified are Costa Toscana Rosso IGT “Birillo” 2013, 2014, and 2015 for reds; Costa Toscana Bianco IGT “Vermentino” 2015 for whites; and Maremma Toscana IGT “Marsiliana” wines beginning in 2016.
