Cortevecchia is the company’s Chianti Classico Riserva. The 2016 vintage of this DOCG can now be purchased online in the Principe Corsini Shop.
Cultivated in the organic vineyards of Villa Le Corti, this wine has a territorial and varietal character, soft and elegant at the same time. A red wine that cannot be reproduced with any other different grapes.
Among the awards received, this wine obtained an excellent score of 92/100 from the wine critic James Suckling. 93/100 is the score awarded by Falstaff, 17++/20 is instead the award received by Jancis Robinson and 90/100 is the score of Wine Plus.
This red comes from the union of Sangiovese (95%) and Colorino (5%). The maturation of the grapes in large oak barrels allows the development of the typical fragrances of the Chianti Classico territory.
The fermentation of Cortevecchia 2016 Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva takes place in open truncated steel tanks. The aging continues in oak barrels of 27 hl for 18 months, followed by at least 6 months in bottle.
In this long period, the scents of Cortevecchia are amplified and expand enriching themselves with elements and fullness. The alcohol level of this red wine is 13.50%. It can be accompanied by a roast beef dish with artichoke pie.
This wine, ruby and bright, leaves in the mouth notes of lavender and cherry, rose and pomegranate, up to the floral touch that turns into red-orange and citrus. The finish is elegant and agile with notes of aromatic herbs, black cherry, mint and liquorice root.
Cortevecchia Riserva was born as a partnership between the authentic soul of Chianti Classico and the passing of time able to refine the wine and deliver its beauty in glasses.
