Saturday 26 October 2019 we participated with enthusiasm in the presentation of the new Guide Vitae 2020 by AIS. The event took place inside the prestigious convention center of Rome also known as the Fuksas’s Cloud from the name of the architect-star author of the project. The guide, now in its sixth edition, confirmed itself as a reference point for the wine industry and an important source of news.

The 600 award-winning labels represent the highest quality of Italian wine production recognized by AIS sommeliers. The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Don Tommaso 2016 by Principe Corsini officially becomes part of it with great satisfaction of the entire company. Being awarded a prize at a national event is a confirmation of the authentic passion that characterizes us in the vineyard and in the cellar.

The awarding of the best Italian wines took place in the morning, while the afternoon was dedicated to tastings for the public of AIS members and enthusiasts present.

Inside the convention center, various tasting stalls have been set up for tasting all the wines available divided by the production area. The AIS sommeliers managed the tasting of the 600 available labels. Among these, of course, was also Don Tommaso 2016.

Excellent feedback from those present to the tasting of our Chianti Classico Gran Selezione that met the public’s favor thanks to its intensity and elegance.

The AIS event in Rome was also an opportunity for us to present the Digiwine project, the exclusive e-commerce of Principe Corsini for the online sale of the wine production of Villa Le Corti, in Chianti Classico, and La Marsiliana, in Maremma.

The idea has received support and has intrigued the public of the event about the entire production and the history of Principe Corsini.

The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione by Principe Corsini

Don Tommaso is a wine made from 80% Sangiovese grapes and 20% Merlot grapes, in full compliance with the Chianti Classico regulations. The grapes are selected by hand from the best vineyards of Villa Le Corti, and fermentation takes place in open steel tanks so as to allow a uniform fulling of the cap.

In 2016, the fermentation process lasted 18 days for the Sangiovese and 16 for the Merlot.

The refinement lasted another 16 months in 500 and 700 liter tonneaux. Finally, a further 12-month bottle refinement followed.

It is a wine with a contemporary style, firmly anchored to the Chianti Classico territory in which it is produced, precisely at Villa Le Corti in San Casciano Val di Pesa. The fruit is deep and complex, the drink is ample, soft and intense as required by the quality Gran Selezione.
