Identità Golose 2019: Principe Corsini wine tasting

Chianti Classico Tasting organized by the Consortium of the Black Rooster

Today, Chianti Classico is a wine that is famous and appreciated all over the world. To protect its interests, protect its name and carry on the traditional production method is the Consortium to which many farms in the Chianti area belong.

Principe Corsini is part of it by producing three different Chianti Classico labels and participates with enthusiasm in the events that promote this wine in Italy and in the world. The last occasion was presented with “Il Signore del Chianti Classico”, a tasting event organized by the Consortium in collaboration with AIS.

Chianti Classico tasting event in Milan

On October 28th, at the Westin Palace in Milan, we took part in a tasting of Chianti Classico and Vin Santo with about 65 other companies from our area. The purpose of the event, open to both AIS members and the public, was to introduce the differences of Chianti Classico wines produced in the territories of the eight municipalities that are part of the DOCG.

We personally participated by offering the Don Tommaso 2015 Chianti Classico DOC Gran Selezione, Le Corti 2016 Chianti Classico Annata DOCG, Zac 2015 IGT Toscana and Per Filo 2017 IGT Toscana for tasting. In the Vin Santo tasting table was present our Sant’Andrea Corsini 2005 Vinsanto DOC.

The novelities presented: Digiwine and Fico Wine

Throughout the afternoon, we had the opportunity to meet several wine lovers and operators in the Ho.Re.Ca industry to whom we presented important news: the Digiwine project, online platform for the purchase of Principe Corsini wines, and the Fico Wine project, of whom we are partners, with Per Filo 2017, or the second wine born from the project strongly desired and started in 2015 by Filippo Corsini.

Excellent feedback received at both tasting stalls, a pride and a great satisfaction for the daily commitment in the vineyard and in the cellar.

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Zac 2016 presented at Identità Golose

In the morning we also took part in a tasting with Zac 2016 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG at Identità Golose, a gastronomic hub in the center of Milan. It was the occasion to make public the passage of Zac, starting from the 2016 harvest, from IGT Toscana to Gran Selezione Chianti Classico.

We decided this step with the 2016 vintage to honor the 300 years from the edict of 1716 by the Granduke that historically outlines and regulates the classic Chianti for the first time in the modern era.
