Don Tommaso and Zac 2020 will be previewing at the Chianti Classico Collection 2024

The new vintages of Chianti Classico Gran Selezione

The 2024 of Principe Corsini opens with the launch of two new vintages of Chianti Classico: Don Tommaso 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG and ZAC 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG.

The new labels will be premiered at the 2024 edition of the Chianti Classico Collection on, Thursday 15, and Friday 16 February, at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence. The event is dedicated to professionals and wine lovers and welcomes 211 producers and over 700 Gallo Nero labels.

Don Tommaso 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG

Don Tommaso by Principe Corsini, produced in 1994 at Villa Le Corti, is the emblem of wine with a contemporary style, but firmly anchored to the territory. The result of the manual selection of the best grapes from Sangiovese (80%) and Merlot (20%) from organic cultivation, Don Tommaso ferments in steel tanks for 18 days (Sangiovese) and 16 days (Merlot).

The subsequent aging of 16 months is in 500 and 700 lt tonneaux, followed by the bottle for at least another 14 months. The 2020 vintage has a compact but vivid ruby red color and expresses a sinuous and exuberant character with typical sensations of cherry, violet, plum, undergrowth, and balsamic nuances.

Zac 2020 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG

Zac is one of the three 100% Sangiovese crus produced in the organic vineyards of Villa Le Corti, in the heart of the countryside of San Casciano in Val di Pesa. This wine is dedicated to Anna Corsini and stands for Zia Anna Corsini, a reference point for the whole family.

The first bottles of Zac produced by the company Principe Corsini date back to the harvest of 2008. This red is a simple wine produced from Sangiovese grapes with spontaneous fermentation, which takes place in steel tanks for 16 days. The aging of 18 months takes place in mainly used barriques and 12 months in bottles. The result is a rigorous wine that highlights its terroir and the climate of each vintage.
