Description
The 2024 harvest marks the debut of Venusio, the new organic Toscana IGT red from Principe Corsini. An innovative and accessible wine, it enriches the Villa Le Corti selection with a unique character, thanks to a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Sangiovese.
This combination delivers a perfectly balanced roundness and freshness—ideal for those looking to discover new aromatic profiles while staying rooted in Tuscan tradition.
Winemaking and Aging
Winemaking
After destemming, the grapes are left whole and transported, without the use of pumps. Spontaneous fermentation takes place for about 15 days in open air steel tanks with an automatic punch-down device.
Aging
In second passage tonneaux for 6 months and other 6 months in cement vats.
Tasting Notes
Venusio opens in the glass with a deep, brilliant ruby red, crossed by hints of purple.
On the nose, its fresh fruit character is immediately evident, dominated by ripe cherries and plums, with subtle violet notes. In the background, dried herbs and touches of rosemary emerge, while the passage in used tonneaux adds delicate hints of sweet spices and cocoa, well integrated with the fruit.
On the palate, the roundness of the Merlot blends with the vitality and freshness of the Sangiovese. The sip is smooth and flowing, supported by gentle tannins and balanced acidity, making it an approachable and satisfying wine. On the finish, the fruity and spicy echoes highlight its remarkable lusciousness.
Pairing
Grilled white and red meats, semi-aged cheeses, and delicate pasta dishes. Mediterranean vegetable-based dishes, lightly topped pizzas, and social gatherings.
