Description
Vermentino Principe Corsini is born in Marsiliana in Manciano, southern Maremma, where the proximity of the sea is felt in the climate, seen in the light, and breathed in the air. The vineyards, which the large extent of the land has made it possible to position in the area with a maximum wine-growing vocation, count about 20 hectares in total.
The soils of Marsiliana are composed prevalently of sand and silt over clay, giving life to extraordinary Mediterranean expressions of a Bordeaux blend.
Vermentino, 100% Vermentino aged in stainless steel, blends the characteristics of the grape variety with the unique aspects of the territory. The result is a fresh, immediate, and saline wine that remids about the sea.
Winemaking
Soft pressing after destemming of whole grapes harvested by hand; 16-hour skin maceration; fermentation for 16 days at 12 °C.
Tasting Notes
Golden and marine, with luminous expressive energy and seductive aromatic intensity, the Vermentino of Maremma vineyards is a summer explosion of fruits with notes of Mediterranean scrub. The scents immediately conquer with the sweet notes of peach and tropical fruit, with juicy pineapple and nuances of oregano and thyme. The citrus spiral that from the lemon leads to the bergamot is amplified in the sip thanks to a generous salty sensation, in a luminous brightness.
Pairing
Delicious with a risotto with clams and baby squids or on a hot salad of squids and shrimps with steamed vegetables.
