With the 2024 harvest, the Principe Corsini estate expands its portfolio with a brand-new label: Venusio, an organic IGT Toscana red crafted at the historic Villa Le Corti. It is a contemporary interpretation of classic Tuscan conviviality.
Venusio is an approachable, harmonious wine born from a blend of 70% Merlot and 30% Sangiovese. This pairing achieves a flawless balance between velvety smoothness and gastronomic freshness, making this red the ideal choice for everyday enjoyment.

Immediate and inviting, Venusio is perfect for those looking to explore new aromatic profiles without straying from Tuscan roots. The grapes are grown in the organic vineyards of San Casciano in Val di Pesa, south-facing and situated between 885 and 1,150 feet (270–350 meters) above sea level.
The altitude and climate provide the ideal conditions for this wine, which pours a brilliant ruby red with purple highlights. The nose reveals ripe cherries and plums, accompanied by delicate notes of violet, dried herbs, and a touch of rosemary—a profile that makes it extremely versatile and food-friendly.
Winemaking and aging
After destemming, the whole grapes are moved gently without the use of pumps. Spontaneous fermentation for this IGT Toscana takes place over approximately 15 days in open-top, tapered stainless steel tanks equipped with automatic punch-down systems.
Aging in neutral French oak tonneaux imparts subtle hints of sweet spices and cocoa, which integrate seamlessly with the fruit. On the palate, Venusio offers delicate tannins and balanced acidity. The finish, marked by lingering fruit and spice, highlights its “deliciously drinkable” nature. It is a wine suited both for long-time fans of Villa Le Corti’s classics and for those seeking a more direct, vibrant pour.
The story behind Venusio IGT Toscana
The name and label for Venusio were envisioned by Fiona Corsini, sister of Duccio Corsini, who describes her inspiration:
“For the name, I thought of Venus, the Goddess linked to agricultural life and the muse of gardens and orchards, as well as the protector of those who tend them.”
The hand-drawn label depicts two animals. “The frog and the monkey,” Fiona explains, “carry a large cluster of grapes on their shoulders, representing the hard work of cultivation but also the reward of the wine to come. I chose these creatures because they are universal symbols of good luck.”
The frog’s croaking signals the awakening of nature in the spring, while the monkey represents wisdom—but also a nod to the lightheartedness of childhood, inviting us toward playfulness and good spirits.
