Zac is 100% Sangiovese from the Gugliaie vineyard (2.5 ha) and dedicated to Anna Corsini, the sister of Prince Tommaso. With the first vintage produced in 2008 (1,800 bottles), it represents the new challenges of the winery. It is a Sangiovese with a strong Chianti character, decisive and elegant at the same time, just like “Zac,” as Anna Corsini is affectionately called by her nieces and nephews and their children.
Tasting and pairing notes:
The 2014 vintage is peculiar due to the unusually cold summer until the warm September, with a late ripening of the grapes. In every detail the wine reveals a graceful finesse. Ruby with darker nuances, the wine shows notes of Provence, with violets and lavender, mandarin and fresh spices with black pepper, anise and cardamom. On the palate it is gentle and light, with geometries of fine tannins, a bright sapid note, and the body defined by undergrowth and fresh walnuts, in a long finish on red fruity notes. Pairing: pheasant with pomegranate
